Join us for Reading Bears & More, a dedicated space for parents and caregivers of children aged 0-3 to connect, socialize, and inspire one another. This initiative aims to foster a community focused on the importance of reading from an early age.
Throughout our gatherings, families will have the opportunity to share resources, exchange tips, and motivate each other in creating a positive reading environment at home. Engaging activities and storytime sessions will be provided to ignite your child’s love for books and learning.

The Southern Baptist Mass Choir
2024 Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame Inductee Donald Lawrence along with special guests B. Chase Williams and Darwin Hobbs will be performing with the Southern Baptist Church Mass Choir for a reunion concert. This limited engagement is one night only. All proceeds will benefit the neighborhood of Avondale.

Avondale Day Festival
The Avondale Day Festival is an initiative presented by the Avondale Development Corporation in partnership with the Avondale Community Council and the Avondale Running Club. This event aims to support at-risk African American families by offering health screenings, counseling services, and essential information. The festival provides a platform for friends and family to offer their support and encouragement in a day-long celebration.
Organized by the Avondale Community Council, in collaboration with the Avondale Development Corporation, the festival also counts on the participation of esteemed partners like the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, The Center for Closing the Health Gap, Urban League, and the Avondale Running Club.

Avondale 5k Feet in the Street
Avondale Feet in the Street 5K
The Avondale Development Corporation, in partnership with Avondale Community Council and Avondale Running Club, presents the annual Feet in the Street 5K. This event serves as a vital resource for at-risk African American families by offering health screenings, counseling, and essential information. The day-long festival atmosphere provides a supportive space for friends and family to show encouragement and solidarity.
Since its establishment, the Avondale Feet in the Street 5K has welcomed over 1000 urban runners and walkers.
